In this paper a simple image compression scheme is proposed, it is based on using two transformation techniques in the frequency domain of DWT and DCT to decompose the image signal and then using Minimize-Matrix-Size algorithm to efficiently encode the compress information that reduces high-frequency matrix size, and makes it easy to be compressed by arithmetic coding. The test results of the suggested method are promising compared with JPEG and JPEG2000 international standards techniques.
